Adeline Stelk, 89 of Grand Island died on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Golden Living -Parkplace.Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church. Rev Dan Bremer.All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.Ade was born on August 4, 1926 at the family farm near Grand Island, only daughter of Albert and Augusta (Wiese) Boltz.Growing up on the farm, Adeline walked to rural school until she attended and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1944.On April 20, 1947 she was united in marriage to Ernest Hasselmann, this union was blessed with two sons. They made their home on the family farm until Ernest died in 1971. In 1973 she was then married to Charles Stelk. Having grown up on the farm, Adeline always loved living and working off the land. She was a wonderful gardener, growing a large garden and fruit trees to can and bake with. As a gifted baker, she was well known for her excellent apple crisp. Adeline was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church.She was survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harlon (Kathryn) Hasselmann of Grand Island; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Hasselmann and Charles Stelk; parents; son, Jerry J. Hasselmann; brother, Maynard Boltz; and great-grandson.
