Obituary for Alice Magdalen Burmood

Alice Magdalen Burmood, 83, of Grand Island went home to her Savior on Friday, December 22, 2017.Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Father Marty Egging. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament. Vigil Service will be at 6:00.Alice was born September 18, 1934 at Poole, NE, the daughter of Joe and Mary (Stittle) Zimmer. She graduated from Kearney Longfellow High School and attended Duchesne College. She was a graduate of Saint Francis School of Nursing.Alice was united in marriage to Robert L. "Bob" Burmood on June 23, 1962 at St. Mary's Cathedral. She had worked for Dr. A. J. Filip and was employed as a Fonner Park First Aid Nurse. Alice was also a substitute nurse for Grand Island Public Schools.Loving and generous, Alice devoted her life to her God, her church, her family and her friends. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Dominick Kreutzer of Westminster, CO; her beloved grandson, Nicholas Kreutzer of Westminster; brother Joe (Donna) Zimmer of Gibbon; sister, Regina Zimmer of Kearney; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Bob, on December, 28, 1987.Memorials are suggested to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
