Alvin P. Miller, 90, of Grand Island, died Monday, November 14, 2016, at Golden Living Park Place. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Monday, November 21, 2016 at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Pastor William Harrold will officiate. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family. Alvin was born on January 11, 1926, in Harvard, NE to Peter and Edna (Koehler) Miller. He grew up on... the farm near Aurora, and attended county school.He was united in marriage to Arlene Bremer, and to this union five children were born. Later he married Josephine Hoss who passed away in 2006. He worked as a mechanic for many years, the Corn Husker Ammunition Plant, and at the local auction houses. Alvin enjoyed stock car races and derbies, family get-togethers, hunting, and watching football. He loved playing Bingo and going to auctions. He was an avid collector of many things; including brass horses.Alvin is survived by children: Darrell (Cathy) Miller of Virginia Beach, VA, Nancy (Allen) Petzoldt of Grand Island, Danny (Pamela) Miller of Grand Island; ten grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister: Virginia (Dean) Church of Clarks, NE; brother: Donnie Miller of Aurora, NE; and special friend: Judy Payne of Grand Island.He was preceded in death by his parents; wives: Arlene and Josie; brothers: Jack, Harold; sons: Terry and Jerry.
