GRETNA - Barbara "Bobbie" Hoskins, 77, of Gretna died Dec. 17, 2016, at Silver Ridge Assisted Living in Gretna. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island. The Rev. Martin Egging will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crawford. Bobbie was born on May 19, 1939, in Burwell, to Walter and Kathleen (O'Connor) Arthur. She grew up in Grand Island and attended St. Mary's High School.
She was united in marriage to Ron Hoskins on April 4, 1959, at Blessed Sacrament Church. Following their marriage the couple lived in several towns in Nebraska, Illinois and Missouri. Eventually they settled in Crawford, where they lived for many years.
Bobbie was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, playing cards and board games, visiting with family and friends, reading and walking. She derived special satisfaction from assisting others as she helped many families through her work at Chamberlain Chapel.
Bobbie is survived by sons Russ (Deb) Hoskins of Papillion, Kurt Hoskins of Maineville, Ohio, and Brad (Joyce) Hoskins of Wayne; grandchildren Justin Hoskins, Jacob Hoskins, Katie Hoskins, Ben Hoskins and Molly Hoskins; great-grandson Landon Hoskins; brothers Norman Arthur, Neil Arthur and John (Kay) Arthur; sister Jo Seier Doofe, and sisters-in-law Carolyn Arthur, Dorothy Arthur and Marie Arthur.
She was preceded in death by husband Ron, grandchildren Jessica Hoskins and Joshua Hoskins, sister Mary Jane Hensley and brothers Roger Arthur and Dick Arthur.
