Obituary for Beth E. Dixon

Beth E. Dixon, 77 of Grand Island passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the UNMC Nebraska Medicine.Service will be 11 AM Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Reverend Dave Clark will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family.Beth was born February 14, 1942 at Olatha, Colorado the daughter of Margaret and John Roehm and Johnny Jordan. She was raised and received her education in Grand Junction, Colorado where she graduated from High School in 1960. On September 10, 1960 she was united in marriage to Charles "Chuck" Dixon. This union was blessed with two children, Lonnie and Paula. Beth and Chuck moved to Grand Island in 1965. Beth was a seasonal employee at Fonner Park Horse Track for many years and was employed by Skagway for over 30 years.She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Grand Island Women's Club. Some of her enjoyments included playing bridge, spending time with her Pinochle friends, horse racing and playing golf. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lonnie (Kathy) Dixon of Grand Island and Paula (Jim) Martin of Alda; grandchildren, James (Hollie) Martin, Jonathan (Cheyenne) Martin and Samantha (Matt) Gardner; great-grandchildren, L.J., Jonny, Wesley, Kamilah, Dredyn, Harper, Quinton, Levi and Skyler and her siblings, Norman (Linda) Roehm, Karl (Susie) Roehm, Judy McDonald, Janet Loggains, John "Tuffy" (Abby) Roehm and Bruce Roehm and several nieces, nephews and friends.She is preceded in death by her husband Chuck who passed July 7, 2018; her mother and father, step-father, John Roehm and brother, Darie Roehm.
