Bette J. McComb, 78 of Grand Island died Friday, January 6, 2017 at CHI Health St. Francis. To honor Bette's wishes cremation will take place. Private family service will be at a later date. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family. Bette was born February 5, 1938 at St. Joseph, Missouri the daughter of Clayton and Beulah (White) Millspaugh. Survivors include her son, Alan (Betty) McComb of Grand Island; her mother, Beulah Millspaugh of Grand Island; sister, Rose Millspaugh-Lemburg and her fianc, Jerome Kreifels of Alda; brother, Lawrence Millspaugh of Omaha; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; half-brother and half-sister, Keith (Melissa) Millspaugh and Peggy Bullers and special son whom she helped raise, Les Millspaugh McComb. She is preceded in death by her husband, James McComb; infant son, James, Jr.; son, Rod; daughter, Lori; her father, Clayton Millspaugh and sister, Judy Reha. Bette was raised and received her education in Lincoln and Grand Island. She married James D. McComb in May 1954. They lived in Grand Island. Bette worked for several years at Park Place Nursing Center. Some of her enjoyments included fishing and camping.
