Betty J. Svitak, 78, of Grand Island passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island, NE.A burial of ashes will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 2, 2019 at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island. A luncheon will follow at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.She was born at Ewing, NE to Albert and Lola (Theisen) Hanna on May 17, 1940.Betty was united in marriage to Ernest Svitak. The couple lived in Chapman, NE on a farm. Betty moved to Grand Island in 1976 and worked at the Nebraska Veterans Home for 30 years.She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her cat sunshine.Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dan (Cheri) Svitak of North Carolina, Randy (Deb) Svitak of Grand Island, Jeff Svitak of Grand Island; daughter, Judy Reha of Aurora; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
