Obituary for Cecilio Roman
Cecilio "Phillip" "Zorro" Roman, 86, of Grand Island passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Celebration of life gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2019 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019 at All Faiths Funeral Home 10 a.m. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial of ashes will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Cecilio was born on November 22, 1932 in Cotulla, TX, son of Rufino and Juanita (Salas) Roman. Cecilio attended school in Texas before moving to Grand Island to begin employment at Luzenac American Industries for the next 45 years. He was also a Teamsters local 554 union member. He was united in marriage to Flora Guerrero, the couple was blessed with nine children. Cecilio was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. Cecilio was an avid gardener and his homegrown salsa was a family favorite. He enjoyed music and watching westerns. As a longtime Nebraska resident, he was a Husker fan. Cecilio knew the value of hard work and was proud of his family and all of their accomplishments. He is survived by his children, Flora Roman of Hastings, Phillip Roman of Lincoln, Sylvia (Gary) Lonowski of Grand Island, Leeann (Doug) Terjak of Central City, Jimmy (Theresa) Roman of San Angelo, Tx, Frances (Emilio) Llanes of Hastings, Raymon Roman of Hastings, and Cecilio T (Jamie) Roman of Bellevue; brothers, Greg Roman of Grand Island, Frank Roman of Grand Island, Rick Roman Of Grand Island, Tony (Angie) Roman of Grand Island; sisters, Damantina Roman of Grand Island, Mary Roman of Grand Island Paula Roman of South Holland, MI; 14 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; along with a host of extended family and friends. Cecilio was preceded in death by his wife, Flora; daughters, Angie and Betty; grandsons, Joshua Beal and Jake Brokaw; granddaughter, Amy Ann Roman. Cecilio's family is forever grateful of the care and compassion he received from the staff of Lakeview Care Home and Rehabilitation Center for the last few years. These last few months have been made so much easier for Cecilio's family by the care shown by Aseracare Hospice.
