Obituary for Claudine Marie Rowley

Claudine Marie Rowley, 87, of Grand Island was welcomed into her Heavenly home on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Her family was at her side.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.Claudine was born December 28, 1929 to Paul and Faye (Johnson) Summers on a farm near Doniphan. She graduated with the class of 1947 at Wood River High School. She taught at the District 72 country school just south of Gibbon for three years.Claudine was united in marriage to Bernard F. Rowley on June 7, 1950, in St. Mary's Cathedral. They farmed together for several years in the Wood River area. Claudine was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family always came first for her. She had some great times and good laughs with her sisters and brother. Claudine loved to go out to eat with her family and discuss current events with her children and grandchildren. She always looked forward to reading her morning paper with a cup of coffee. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Cheryl (John) Riskowski of Wood River, Mike (Marlene) Rowley of St. Paul, Randy (Joyce) Rowley of Grand Island, Brad (Pat) Rowley of Grand Island, Jamie Rowley of Elm Creek, Marcia (Dave) Provorse of Topeka, KS, Jeremy (Lori) Rowley of Kernersville, NC and Jeff (Ashlee) Rowley of Lincoln; sisters, Ruth Creamer of Kearney and Helen (Art) Hartman of Gibbon; brother, Dick (Sue) Summers of Gibbon; sister-in-law, Veronica (Marion) Ostdiek of Sun City, Fl; 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard in 1985; her parents; grandsons, Matthew McAlexander and Joshua Rowley; and great-granddaughter, Quinn Blankenship.Memorials are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House or Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Nebraska.
