Obituary for Dave W. Schott Sr.

Dave Wayne Schott, Sr., 69, of Dannebrog died on Thursday, April 27, 2017. Service and celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home with Reverend Craig Niemeier officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dave was born September 4, 1947 at Chadron, Nebraska to Henry and Mary (Cedar) Schott. He was baptized in the Chadron Baptist Church and graduated from Chadron High School, class of 1965. On May 17, 1976 Dave married Barbara Helie. Following their marriage they lived in Wyoming and Grand Island before moving near Dannebrog in 1984. Dave worked in sales and construction. As licensed "ham" radio operator, he was known as "WAORWJ". Dave's other enjoyments included hunting, fishing and Sunday morning Polka on AM Radio. Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Schott; son, Christopher Schott; brothers, Donald Schott and William Schott; and his parents. Survivors include his children, Bryan (Georgia) Miller of Cairo, Crystal (Jason) Glause of St. Libory, Dave Jr. (Jennifer) Schott of Bennington, NE, Doug (Crystal) Schott of St. Libory and Brenda (Jeff) Jennelle of Ogallala; eleven grandchildren; and one great grandson. Memorials are suggested to the family.
