Deborah M. Rock, 56, of Grand Island passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at her home in Grand Island.
Cremation has been chosen. Celebration of Life Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home. The Rev. Marty Egging will officiate. Burial of ashes will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Debbie was born on Sept. 19, 1959, in Grand Island, daughter of Donald and Margie (Kaumans) Rock.
She is survived by her parents; brother, Thomas Rock of Grand Island; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Theresa and Steve McCarthy, Annette Reinhardt and Mary and Jeff Czaplewski, all of Grand Island; a longtime friend, Sandy Dobish; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by her twin brother and sister, Matthew and Michelle Rock; her paternal and maternal grandparents; an uncle, Bob Kaumans; an aunt, Dorothy Halpin; and her special four-legged friend, Tessa.
Debbie was raised and received her education in Grand Island and graduated at midterm from Grand Island High School in 1977.
As a lifelong artist, Deb would paint murals for preschools, and churches while living in Hastings. She was always learning and taking college art classes. Deb enjoyed drawing parrots, butterflies and most other animals. Deb adored animals and her yorkie, Tessa, held a special place in her heart. Deb was very independent and was proud to be of help to her parents during their recent health concerns. Her faith helped her through many troubles and handwritten verses were always nearby. She enjoyed playing dominos and spending time with family.
