Donald E. Rauert, 96, long time Grand Island resident, died Jan. 18, 2019, in Odessa Texas.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Dan Naranjo will officiate. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Donald was born Dec. 14, 1922, at Grand Island, the son of Richard and Ella (Voss) Rauert. He was raised on a family farm northwest of Grand Island. Donald graduated from Grand Island Senior High. On Sept. 24, 1949, he was united in marriage to Jean Haddix. They farmed until 1984, then Don went to work for H&R Block for 25 years while being a 36-year volunteer of the Grand Island Rural Fire Department.
He was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church, the Platt Duetsche and the Eagles Club.

Those left to cherish his memory include daughters, Jannis Parrish of Sherman, Texas, Sonya Maul of Lakeside, Calif., Karen Frazzini of Denver, Colo., and LeAnn Smith of Odessa, Texas; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; his parents; and his siblings, Bob Rauert and Dorothy Sharp.
