Obituary for Donna R Peterson

Donna Peterson, 77, of Grand Island passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 at CHI-Health St. Francis.Memorial services will be held on Friday at 3 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Inurnment will be held in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Donna was born on March 11, 1940 in San Rafael, CA, only daughter of Marvin and Ellouise (Sevrens) Nichols.She is survived by her husband, George of Grand Island; children, Marvin (Debra) Goodro of Grand Island, Pamela Peterson of Grand Island, Pat Scheenen of Grand Island, Kevin (Teri) Goodro of Lincoln; 26 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandchild, beloved dogs and extended family and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Robert Randall Jr., and Michael Goodro; brothers, Marvin Nichols Jr., and Melvin Nichols; grandsons, Damian, Jr., and Beau; sons-in-law, Kirk Scheenen, and Dana Peterson. Early in Donna's life her family moved from California to St. Paul, Nebraska where she attended school. She was employed at Leon's Plastics in Alda before finding her true passion on the open road as a team driver with her husband. Donna and George drove for many years with R & M until owning Got2Go Express. On November 1, 1980 Donna was united in marriage to George Peterson, the couple enjoyed team driving together and spending time with their family.Donna enjoyed playing darts, pitch and canasta with family and friends. Her newspaper subscription had to be current for her to solve the daily crossword puzzle. Camping was a favorite pastime until there were too many grandchildren to chase. She was Grandma to everyone and everyone was always welcomed at her home.Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
