Esther Susan Myers, 84, of Wahoo, formerly of Grand Island, died January 15th, 2025 at Bergen Mercy Hospital in Omaha.
Graveside services and burial at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025; Dan Naranjo will officiate.
All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements, memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
Esther was born on December 23, 1940, to Edwin G. and Margaret (Heckler) James in Lockport, NY. She was raised and attended school in Lyndonville, NY.
She worked as a waitress and in the kitchen of many restaurants in Grand Island including Conoco Café, Tommy's and the Riverside Hotel. After retiring, she enjoyed her house plants, working in the yard, gardening, baking and spending time with all her family and friends.
Esther is survived by her son Bruce (Gail) Arp of Weston, NE and their children and grandchildren Kyle Arp of Wahoo, NE, Kathryn (Andrew) Donahue and Avery of Raymond, NE; daughter-in-law Grace Arp of El Dorado Hills, CA and her children Jonathan and Jessica; sister-in-law Betty James of Kearney, sister MaryAnn (Kenneth) Ostrander of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Myers, son John Arp, parents, brothers, George (Eleanor) James, Edwin "Eddie" James, Charles "Jesse" (Evelyn) James, Jerry James; sisters, Ruth (Roy) Dunn, and Kathleen "Kathy" (Glenn) Fuller, Margaret H. "Peg" Murphy of New York.
