Genaro "Jerry" Guardiola, Jr., 77, of Grand Island, died Saturday at Lakeview. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. Father Jim Golka will officiate. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial. A visitation will be held at All Faiths Funeral Home, on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Jerry was born on October 30, 1940 to Genaro Sr. and Esther (Martinez) Guardiola in Laredo, TX. The family left Laredo in 1958 and moved to NE.He was united in marriage to Jenny Aguilar on May 9, 1960. This union was blessed with two children, Tina and Samuel.Jerry was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and made his living as a Railroad Track Technician. His memory will forever be cherished by his children, Tina Guardiola and Samuel Guardiola; grandchildren, Dominick, Joshua, Nigel, Kyrstie, Kara, Sammy; great grandchildren, Isabella, Abel, Brooklyn, Jaidon, Emilio, Averi, Lenin, Jaxson; and his siblings, Roberto Guardiola, Ninfa Guardiola, Nelda Villano, Grace Pierce, Maria Guardiola, Sandy Youngquist, Rosa Guardiola, and Fran Stabenow.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother Oscar, and a sister Berta.Memorials are suggested to the family.
