Gerri" Geraldine M. Mehring, 89 of Grand Island died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the Country House.Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon till service time.Gerri was born May 12, 1929 at Grand Island the daughter of Fred and Carolyn (Schwieger) Gulzow. She attended School District 28 and graduated from Grand Island Senior High class of 1947. Following high school, she worked for State Farm Agency and Claims Service.On May 15, 1949 she was united in marriage to Delmar Mehring. She continued to work with her husband at State Farm retiring in 1992. Her husband died in 2003.Some of her enjoyments included bowling, gardening, traveling, bridge club, knitting, crocheting, dancing and spending time with family. She was a member of the Platt Duetsche and Liederkranz Ladies Auxiliary.Survivors include her sons, Greg (Marla) Mehring of Montserrat, West Indies and Tom (Liz) Mehring of St. Libory; grandchildren, Mandy Storeim, Audrey Mehring and Allison Mehring and step-grandchildren, Tony, Scott and Sarah Garduno and Charles Stephenson; great-grandchildren, Bella, Jake, Emily, Nathan, Luke and Charlotte and sister, LaDonna Donahoo of Grand Island.She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Wayne Gulzow and grandson, Thomas Mehring, Jr.Memorials are suggested to Central Nebraska Humane Society.
