Sibbitt
Jan 11, 1930 — Jul 5, 2024
Lila Sibbitt passed away on July 5th, 2024, at 8:30 pm, surrounded by the warmth and love of her children and grandchildren. Her peaceful departure marked the end of a beautiful and fulfilling life, filled with love, music, and cherished memories.
Born on January 11th, 1930, in Omaha, NE, to Alida and Lloyd Whitaker, along with her two sisters, Kathryn and Diane. Lila lived a life rich in family and passion. She married Thomas Sibbitt Sr., and together they raised four wonderful children. She is survived by her sister Diane, her daughter Paula, her son David, and her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carry her legacy of love and kindness.
In addition to being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lila was also a talented musician. Her voice graced the Sweet Adelines in several choirs and quartets, where she found joy and camaraderie through music. Her talents extended beyond music; she had a keen eye and a steady hand for cross-stitch and a sharp mind for puzzles. An avid reader, Lila's love for books enriched her life and those around her.
Above all, Lila will be remembered for her boundless kindness and loving spirit. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her gentle nature and generous heart, and she cared deeply for nature and the many animal companions she had over the years. Her legacy of love, music, and compassion will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come.
Lila's memory will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of love and warmth in a world that is so much brighter because of her.
