Lucille E. Whitehead, 88 of Grand Island died Friday, September 2, 2016 at Good Samaritan Village-Grand Island.Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Bishop Barton Pyper will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.Visitation will be an hour before service time. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.Mrs. Whitehead was born November 21, 1927 at Columbia Heights, Minnesota the daughter of Harold and Stella (Wajda) Wyman.Survivors include her son, Mark Whitehead of Grand Island; granddaughter, Alicia Lynn Whitehead; brother, Robert (Del) Wyman of Minnesota and nieces, nephews and friends.She is preceded in death by her husband, George Whitehead; her parents; brother, Kenneth Wyman and sister, Marlene Johnson.Lucille was raised and attended school in Columbia Heights, MN graduating from high school in 1945. She was united in marriage to George Arthur Whitehead on May 19, 1948. George served in the Navy and they travelled the world including time in Guam. Following her husband's time in the military in 1964 they settled in Nebraska making Grand Island their home.Lucille worked for Hansen Employment and Pepsi Cola Company in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
