Obituary

Marline M. Myers, 99, of Grand Island, passed away on September 9, 2024 at Country House. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 12th from 5-7 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13th at 1:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Adam Snoberger will officiate. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Marline was born on August 29, 1925 in rural Adams County, to Louis and Emelia (Flessner) Muhleisen. She grew up on the family farm in Adams County near Blue Hill. She graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1943.
On March 22, 1944, Marline was united in marriage to Bob J. Myers, in Blue Hill. Four children were born into this union, Karen, Steven, Susan, and Michael. The couple owned and operated Blue Hill Cleaners for 12 years before moving to Grand Island in August of 1961. Together they started and operated Myers Heating and Air Conditioning, until Mr. Myers passed in 1978. Then Marline continued operating the business with her son, Mike, until her retirement in 1991.
Marline was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ruth Society, Alter Guild, sewing circle, the Liederkranz, and the Platt Deutsche Ladies Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering at the Nebraska Veterans Home, being a seamstress, and playing cards.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Karen (Craig) Ensley of Lincoln, Rev. Steven (Cindy) Myers of Portage, IN., Michael (Jill) Myers of Grand Island; son-in-law, Al Alberg of Black Forest, CO.; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
Marline was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; daughter, Susan Alberg; parents, Louis and Emelia Muhleisen; and brothers, Clarence (Irene), LaVern (Madalynn), Burnell (Josephine), and Ardene (Patty).
