Myrna Petzoldt, 88, of Grand Island died on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Bryan - Grand Island Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Messiah Lutheran with Pastor Steven Peeler officiating. Burial in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery will follow. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Myrna was born on September 4, 1936, at Grand Island, NE to Albert and Olga Anderson. She grew up in Grand Island and received her education at G.I Senior High.

She was united in marriage to Lester Petzoldt on April 28, 1956, at Grand Island, NE. After which the couple lived in Grand Island where she was employed by Chief Industries for 20 years.

Myrna was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. Platte Duetsche, Busy Dozen Extension Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She loved to play Sheepshead and Rummy, spend time with family, taking care of the yard work on the farm, and casino trips.

Myrna is survived by her son, Steve Petzoldt of Grand Island; daughter Cindy (Randy) Swanek of Doniphan; seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers: LeRoy and Russel Anderson; and sister Delores Heesch.
