Grand Island resident Naomi J. Erickson, 86, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at her home. Memorial Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Island with Pastor Bill Schroeder officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island. Memorials may be given to Messiah Lutheran Church. Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the family present. Naomi was born August 5, 1931, in Grand Island, NE to William & Julia (Runge) Fuerstenau. She attended Grand Island Public Schools, Hall County Schools, and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1949. Naomi attended Kearney State Teachers College. She married Dean Erickson on November 4, 1951; he preceded her in death on May 3, 2000. Naomi worked as a secretary to the high school principal, bookkeeper at Honore Kennels, and sales office at Hornady Manufacturing.
