Obituary

Rodney R. Rauert, 65, of rural Grand Island died Monday, November 06, 2017 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha after a lengthy illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church. Reverend Julie Western will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.Rodney was born October 27, 1952 at Grand Island, NE, the son of Paul and Carroll (Sass) Rauert.Rodney was raised and received his education in Grand Island. He graduated from Northwest High School class of 1971. On June 2, 1978 he was united in marriage to Judith Hafer. Judith passed away on September 4, 2012. He married Cathy (Schramm) Dusatko on July 13, 2013. He farmed north of Grand Island.He was a member of First Christian Church, the Platt Duetsch, where he enjoyed playing sheep's head and pitch; the Isaak Walton League and the Saddle Club. He enjoyed his trips to Branson, Missouri and fishing with his children when they were young.Survivors include his wife, Cathy; his children, Steve (Tina) Rauert of Grand Island, Jason Rauert of Grand Island and Dawn Rauert of Lincoln; his mother, Carroll Rauert of Grand Island; step-children, Traci (Jeromy) Vauble of Norfolk and Jack (Julie) Dusatko of Shakopee, MN; brother, Larry (Donna) Rauert of Grand Island; sisters, Sharon Clark of Sallisaw, Oklahoma and Pam (Larry) Rieck of Tea, South Dakota; grandchildren, Kieli, Aubree, Emmalen, Wyatt and Josephine and step-grandchildren, Kamden, Karsyn, Xander, Nolan, John and Kaylee.He is preceded in death by his first wife, Judith; his father, Paul, and granddaughter, Aliannah Rauert.Memorials are suggested to: Northwest FFA, the Isaak Walton League, St Jude's Children Research Hospital.
