Obituary for Romaine A. Jolkowski

Romaine A. Jolkowski, 86 of Grand Island died Sunday, March 18, 2018 at CHI Health-St. Francis.Services will be 10:30 AM Monday, March 26th at Trinity Lutheran Church. Reverend Adam Snoberger will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Sunday at All Faiths Funeral Home.Romaine was born December 30, 1931 at Hildreth, Nebraska the daughter of George and Grace (Casper) Tjaden. She was raised and received her education in Hildreth. On July 16, 1960 she was united in marriage to Wilfred E. Jolkowski. This union was blessed with three children, Julieanna, Steven and Michelle.Romaine's love of children led her to having an in-home daycare. She was a grandma to many. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. Her memory will be treasured by many. She has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1955.Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Wilfred; daughters, Julieanna Haney of Omaha and Michelle (Monte) Shultz of Grand Island; son, Steve (Gwen) Jurgens of Grand Island; grandchildren, Christyn Niroomand-Rad, Trapper Jurgens, Amanda Jurgens, Casey Jurgens, Maggie Jurgens, Steven Jurgens, Vanessa Bos, Kassy Shultz, Zach Shultz, Ryan Brandt, Jacob Brandt, Jamie Wailes and Danny Whitmyer; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn (Robert) Heinzman of Lincoln and Teresa (Dave) Vasey of Louisville, NE and a brother, Terry Anderson of Grand Island.She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wesley Tjaden; sister, Barbara Suck; grandchildren, Eric Jurgens and Baby Jurgens and great-grandchildren, Alizea and Kevon Jurgens.Memorials are suggested to the family for future designations.
