Shirley Ann Stahlnecker,89, of Grand Island, passed away on December 30, 2024 at Tiffany Square. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 6th at 11 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop Rosenlund will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5th from 4-6 pm, also at the church. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Shirley was born on March 22, 1935 in Grand Island to Floyd and Annabelle (Dunkel) Smith. She was raised and received her education in the Grand Island area.
On July 2, 1950, Shirley was united in marriage to Alvah 'Carl' Stahlnecker Jr. Three children were born into this union. The family started their life together in Grand Island, retired to Hebron for a short time, and she ultimately settled back in Grand Island. Shirley was employed at multiple grocery stores and Liquor Stores
Shirley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, wood crafting, canning, and going camping. More than anything she loved her family and her dogs.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Diania Graves of Grand Island, Alvah 'Ace' (Judy) Stahlnecker III of Fort Worth, TX, Steve (Cindy) Stahlnecker of Grand Island; grandchildren, Frederic (Teshawna) Graves, Carlia (Todd) Brundage, Alvah 'Al' (Meadow) Stahlnecker IV, Amanda Stahlnecker, Kelly (Meri) Stahlnecker, Nathan (Caitlin) Stahlnecker; and great grandchildren, Justise (Richard) Rhoden, Kelsey Brundage, Analeigh Stahlnecker, Katalyna Stahlnecker, Jaxon Stahlnecker, Alvah (Quin) Stahlnecker V, Marnie Stahlnecker, Hudson Stahlnecker, Melay Stahlnecker, and Esa Stahlnecker.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Elwin and Cecil Smith; sisters, Velma Tiedeman, Erline Sheffield; and son-in-law, Fredrick Graves.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
