Tyler J. Johnson, 24, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at CHI Health St. Francis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Leo's Catholic Church. Celebrating Mass will be the Rev. Donald Buhrman. Casual attire is requested. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a Christian wake service at 7, at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Tyler was born April 17, 1992, at Grand Island, the son of Steven and Theresa (Brugman) Johnson.
Survivors are his parents, Steve and Theresa Johnson, sister Emily Johnson and paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Judy Johnson, all of Grand Island; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins; and his four-legged companion, "Sadie Bear."
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Alice Brugman, and uncle, Randy Johnson.
Tyler attended Gates Elementary, Barr Middle School and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 2010. He was on the GISH golf team for four years. Following high school, he attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Tyler worked four years as a videographer at Fonner Park horse racing and was currently employed as a Hardscape for Elite Dreamscapes Landscaping. He enjoyed playing golf, disc golf, shooting blue rock and hanging out with his friends. He was a Husker fan.
A memorial fund will be established in memory of Tyler.
