Vivian was born on Oct. 18, 1930, at Central City to Dick and Nettie (Everett) Stuart.

Vivian was raised in Central City, where she graduated from Central City High School in 1949. After high school she worked as a waitress, where she met Sheldon.
On Oct. 18, 1950, Vivian was united in marriage to Sheldon Dethloff in Grand Island, where the couple made their home.
In 1971 Vivian and Sheldon began Wiper Towel Service; they worked side by side for many years. Vivian was also a Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher and an active volunteer working in the concession stand at softball games.

Vivian enjoyed crocheting, roller skating and following all her children's and grandchildren's school activities and sporting events. She was always there for everyone to help in any way. Family was everything to Vivian. Holidays were always special in her house. She was a wonderful cook, often going out of her way to make sure she had baked everyone's favorite food when they came to visit and having snacks in the house for the grandchildren.
