William 'Bill' Boersen, 81, of Grand Island, passed away Wednesday, November 8 at CHI-Health St. Francis Medical Center.Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverend Bill Pavuk officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. He attended grade school in Merrick County at District 2N School. He graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1955. After graduating he worked on the family farm.He was united in marriage to Laura Bockman on April 28, 1963 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island where he worked for the Coca-Cola Factory and later at Diamond Plastics. He worked for Skagway for many years and retired in 2014.Bill was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church.He loved the outdoors and animals, playing cards and especially spending time with his family and friends.Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Laura; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Donna Boersen of Grand Island; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Max J. Boersen Sr., and Louie Boersen; 2 sisters, Marie Springsguth, and Minnie Meinke; and numerous other family members. ReadMore»
