Yvonne J. Leisinger, 87, of Grand Island died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at Bickford Assisted Living.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Dr. Robert Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Yvonne was born Nov. 7, 1929, at Grand Island, the daughter of Joseph and Marguerite (Smith) Bosler.
Survivors include her children. Kaila (Fred) Roeser, Scott (Joannie) Leisinger, Lane (Jennifer) Leisinger and Stephanie (Josh Mason) Thomsen, all of Grand Island; grandchildren, Shane (Mollie) Leisinger, Corey (Ryan) Atkinson, Justin Roeser, Ryan (Meghan) Roeser, Amber (Nathan) Diers, Laura (Niko) Solverson, Andrew Bowling, Taylor (Ben) Nelson and Grey Mason; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Spencer Diers, Alexander and Haley Roeser, Claire Roeser, Cole Bowling and Braan Nelson; and two half sisters, Joan Kincade of Omaha and Sharon (Gary) Jenkins of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, who died on March 21, 1996; a daughter, Renee Evette Leisinger; two infant brothers, Leland and Kenneth Bosler; and her special friend, Pete Liebsack.
Yvonne was raised and attended school in Grand Island. On Oct. 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Donald C. Leisinger. They made their home in Grand Island. She was a clerk for various stores, including Kaufman's, Jesse's Bakery, Swan's Furniture and Williamson Furniture, and worked at the courtesy desk at Skagway north.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Adoptive Foster Parent Organization, AARP, VFW, NARF, Saddle Club, and PTA for 36 years, Gold Star Wives and was a foster parent for hundreds of children. She enjoyed the Grand Generation Center and loved spending time at the casino slot machines.
